Representations

• HeartSuite comprises a set of system functions and user application programs. The purposes of HeartSuite is multifold; it is designed to stop programs from being started without the knowledge and consent of the user, as well as to stop the ones that are executed from accessing files and remote servers without the knowledge and consent of the user. HeartSuite does not discriminate between programs nor considers user privileges, including root access; hence, it is capable of preventing necessary and useful startup programs from being executed as well as shutdown programs. Accordingly, HeartSuite must be configured to permit the appropriate execution of such programs so that legitimate operations of the operating system are not hampered.
• The HeartSuite lockdown feature prevents attackers from changing the HeartSuite configuration during operation. Some maintenance of the computer, however, will require that this feature be disabled temporarily; therefore, it is incumbent on you to put into place other protections for your computer so that attackers cannot successfully attack your server during maintenance. Recommendations for such alternate protections are included in the HeartSuite documentation.
• The details of how to configure and use HeartSuite are contained in the document entitled, "HeartSuite Setup and Configuration."

Agreement

• Heart Security Suite, LLC, grants you a permanent, non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable license to use the HeartSuite security software, beta version, developed for the x86 architecture on a Debian server.
• THIS SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED BY THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND CONTRIBUTORS "AS IS" AND ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
